Essential pre Requisites:
•    The S-Off should be gained in your HTC One X and also its important that you have rooted HTC One X as this firmware can only be applied on the rooted devices.

Procedure to Update HTC One X with Charmeleon Custom ROM firmware:
•    Download Charmeleon Custom ROM firmware from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you now need to then connect your One X to the computer with the help of original USB cable.
•    Turn Off your HTC One X so that it can be entered in the recovery mode via Boot loader mode.
•    The Boot loader mode in HTC One X can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone boots in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the boot loader mode.
•    In the boot loader mode, you need to select “recovery” so as to enter into the recovery mode. In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition.

How to Update HTC Sensation with AOKP Based ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware

HTC Sensation smartphone can now be easily updated with the latest version of ICS Android 4.0 firmware version. Officially, as of now the ICS update hasn’t arrived for HTC Sensation and also company hasn’t specified on by when this update will be rolling out. This custom ROM firmware ropes in the latest AOKP build which is the Android Open KANG Project. Though it’s a beta custom ROM, there will be some bugs but most of the things are functional and are fine. Sensation XE and Sensation XL too will be getting its pie of ICS via Open KANG Project which will rope in the goodness of ICS Android 4.0.3 firmware.
Caution: This update should be strictly applied to the HTC Sensation device only and not to any of the other Sensation devices as it may even brick the device.

Procedure to Update HTC Sensation with ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware:
•    Download AOKP based Custom ROM Firmware (md5: md5- 67a9b64fac071434d00e498acdedb770) & Google Apps from here to your computer. Connect your phone to computer with the help of original USB cable and place the downloaded zip files in your phone.
•    Disconnect the phone and turn off the device so that it can be then entered in the recovery mode. . The recovery mode in htc Sensation can be entered by pressing the Volume Down button + Power Button till you see the recovery mode screen on your phone.

•    Once the device is entered in the recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the AOKP based Custom ROM Firmware Package and then the Google Apps Package.

•    Once the device is updated with the firmware and Google apps, select “++++ Go Back ++++” and choose the options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now with the help of Volume rocker keys in your Sensation.
Note: Just in case if the device refuses to start up or gets into the boot loop mode, you then need to re insert the battery and follow all the instructions mentioned above.

How to Update HTC Sensation XL with ICS Android 4.0 Firmware

HTC might have just forgotten about rolling out an ICS Android 4.0 update for its 4.7 inched monster Sensation XL smartphone but all thanks to the developers who has come up with this custom ROM firmware which ropes in the goodness of ICS. Please note that this firmware is not released by HTC Officially and also we don’t have any ETA on by when there will be an Official update released. But as in when its launched, we will update the same on AndroidAdvices.

Pre Requisites:
•    Charge your phone and ensure that at least 60% of Sensation XL the device doesn’t get turned Off in the process of firmware update. Enable USB Debugging in your HTC Sensation XL from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”
•    All the data in your HTC Sensation XL should be backed up with the help of below steps. Don’t use HTC Sync to back up the data as htc sync won’t detect the device in the custom ROM firmwares.

•    Your HTC Sensation XL should be rooted and should have S-Off as without this, it won’t be possible to apply this update.
Procedure to Update HTC Sensation XL with ICS 4.0 Firmware:
•    Download HTC Drivers and .Net Framework package from here to your computer. Once its done, you now need to download the Android recovery manager from here to your computer.
•    Install the HTC Drivers as well as the .net framework in your computer by extracting and following the on screen instructions.
•    Up next, download the ICS 4.0 Update for Sensation XL in your computer and rename to the file “update.zip” file from “OTA_RUNNYMEDE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.2-1.05.401.4_R2_release_258338d2wzjl71eps0s2e6.z”.
•    After renaming the file, all you need to do is to just connect your phone to computer and place this renamed file in your device’s internal memory.
•    Up next, check the current firmware version and note down the same from the path “Settings » About » Software Information” along with the baseband version so that just in case if you wish to revert, then you can revert the same. Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable if you have disconnected the device.
•    Now, click on the “Recovery manager.exe” executable file and then click on “Start” and click on “Download recovery” option. Up next you need to select the option of “Android recovery manager” and then if the firmware is 1.23.163.1, select the Vodafone FR 1.23.163.1 option and similarly if it’s 1.24.401.1, select the Europe 1.24.401.1 option.
•    After selecting the mentioned files, you need to now select “I agree” option and select “Download selected recovery and flash” for starting the device in the recovery mode. As soon as the recovery is installed successfully, you now need to select “No” in the reboot into recovery mode option.
•    Once the device is rebooted, you can see the “!” symbol icon in the device and then press and hold the power button. Up next, press the Volume up key to confirm the same which will then boot the device in the recovery mode.
•    With the help of Volume keys, you need to select the option of “apply update from sd card” and choose the option of “update.zip” file which you have placed in your device.
•    Once the device is updated with the firmware version, you then need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then “reboot system now” for rebooting the device.

How to Root & Install Clock Work Mod Recovery in Galaxy Tab 2 P5110 Tablet

Last but not the least, you need to ensure that a minimum of 60% battery should be left to ensure that the device doesn’t get turned Off in the process of rooting and installing CWM.
Procedure to Root & Install Clock Work Mod Recovery in Galaxy Tab 2:
•    Download Odin, CWM Recovery Image&Rooting Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, place the cwm-root-gtab2a.zip file in your device by connecting the Tab 2 to the computer with the help of original USB cable. Extract Odin and open the same while you need to extract the downloaded CWM recovery image to get the tar file.
•    After this, disconnect the Tab 2 from computer and turn it Off so that it can be then entered in the Download Mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Down rocker Key + Power button and then when you see the Yellow triangle, press the Volume Down rocker key to enter the Tab 2 in the download mode. (Volume Down is the left rocker key while the Volume Up button is the right rocker key)
•    Open Odin in your computer and connect your Tab 2 to computer with the help of USB cable. Once you connect, you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow.
Note: If the ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
• Install the USB Drivers in your computer &
• Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” and ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
•    Click on “PDA” tab in Odin to select “recovery.tar.md5” from the extracted files. Once it’s done, click on “Start” to start the process of rooting.
•    It will take around 2 – 3 minutes to flash the recovery in your device. Once it’s done, the device will either re boot or will land back on the recovery mode screen.
•    Now, disconnect the device and turn off the device so that we can now proceed to the next step.
•    Now, you need to enter the Tab 2 in the recovery mode. The recovery mode in Tab 2 can be entered by pressing the Volume down rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off. If the device boots up in the normal mode, you need to re try the process of the entering the device into the recovery mode.
•    In recovery mode, select “install zip from sdcard” > “choose zip from sdcard” > select “cwm-root-gtab2a.zip” which you have placed in the device and select “Yes” with the help of volume rocker keys and power button. It will take around 3 – 4 minutes to install the recovery and to root.
Tip: Just in a rare case due to some reasons if the process of rooting gets stuck in the middle or the device gets into the boot loop mode, then you need to apply the update again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
